Many of us manage our lives by keeping a “To Do” list to capture and prioritize what we need or want to get done on a daily or weekly basis. Self-value and accomplishment are sometimes rooted in getting done the tasks that need Doing. But exclusive focus on Doing can cause imbalance and impact spiritual and emotional being. This talk will offer tools for giving equal priority to Being and Feeling to find balance and joy.

Artistically she is a lifelong musician and performs with several bands and ensembles in NC and GA. Professionally, Marie is an independent management consultant specializing in safety and environmental risk reduction and is a children’s book author.

I grew up in Tampa and I’m a retired electronic technician. I embarked on my spiritual journey in 1999 when I moved to California and became involved with a Science of Mind center in Oakhurst. I was employed in various capacities as a bus driver and interpretive guide in Yosemite National Park. Having been a musician for most of my life, I provided music for the Sunday services until I departed in 2022. I have an Associate of Behavioral Studies degree from Emerson Theological Institute. I’m also a certified massage therapist and Reiki Master.

Watercolor Class – Joan Doyle 3rd Friday, 10:30 – 12:30pm

This is a 2 hour class in watercolor.

Watercolor is easy and fun! Learn techniques and tips to make your art pop.

Joan will provide a painting in keeping with the season and then lead the class in creating a masterpiece!

In keeping with the Ernest Holmes’ goal to remain “open at the top” The Creative Thought Center proudly facilitates weekly classes on A Course In Miracles.

For anyone unfamiliar with this teaching, the following is taken directly from the book’s preface: We have distorted the world by our twisted defenses, and are therefore seeing what is not there. As we learn to recognize our perceptual errors, we also learn to look past them or “forgive”. At the same time we are forgiving ourselves, looking past our distorted self-concepts to the Self That God created in us and as us.

A Course in Miracles is a spiritual-psychological path to remembering our Oneness with God, allowing our true identity to be recognized. It is a non-dual teaching which states that Love is all there is and there is no opposite to Love: no sin, no guilt, no fear, no unworthiness. Only Love. Everything else is illusion. Ultimately it is a path to complete freedom, peace and joy, as we remember the truth of our shared being with Source.

As stated in the Preface to the Course, “Its only purpose is to provide a way in which some people will be able to find their own Internal Teacher.” It trains us to recognize, listen to and trust our Internal Teacher. The Course refers to this teacher as Holy Spirit, which it describes as the abstract memory of God, or Love, in our mind. We may call it Holy One, Higher Self, Essence; the name we give this abstract presence matters not. We all carry the remembrance of our True Nature within us.
